Momentum is a mobile-first habit and goal tracker built around one idea: consistency should feel rewarding, not like a chore. Daily goals, one-tap check-ins, streaks and weekly activity views keep progress visible, wrapped in a playful visual language inspired by the best habit-building apps.
I designed and built it with React Native and Expo in TypeScript, so a single codebase runs as an installable web app and on mobile. Firebase handles accounts and cross-device sync, alongside a local demo mode that runs entirely on-device; progress animations, sound effects and automatic light/dark theming make the daily check-in a moment worth coming back for.
The interesting problem was the progress engine — goals with weekly targets and day boundaries, tracked identically whether data lives in on-device demo storage or syncs through Firebase. The result is a tracker quick enough to check in daily and expressive enough to show momentum building over weeks.
